Mapping Colors

Customized Sol stations and map work should take colours from the Sol mapping palettes — not upstream Departmental swatches or one-off hex picks — so departments and hazard markings stay consistent.

Where to pick colours

  1. Open the Sandbox Panel (B by default).
  2. Open the Decal Placer.
  3. Enable Custom Color and open the palette dropdown.

You will see palette groups in that menu. For Sol work, use:

  • Sol Departmental — department / area identity colours
  • Sol Useful Colors — caution, go/stop, danger, and similar utility colours
Source of truth

The in-game palette list is authoritative. Contents can change as Sol ships palette updates. Do not rely on a hardcoded hex sheet from an outdated doc — open the picker and use what is listed under those two Sol palettes.

Pipe network colours used for dock layer standards (distro, waste, buy/sell) are a separate functional convention — see Pipe Dock Standards. Those hex values are for pipe connectivity standards, not for painting station floors and decals.
